A truck driver was killed this morning in Northern Israel when his vehicle overturned on Route 87 near the Almagor intersection. Police are investigating the incident.
At 7:45 am, rescue forces were called to the scene. The driver was trapped in the front of the truck when it caught fire after flipping over. Only after fire crews extinguished the flames was it possible to rescue the driver.
Magen David Adom (MDA) teams arrived at the scene to treat the man, but had to pronounce him dead. “It was very difficult to see,” said Ronen Kadosh, an MDA paramedic. “The truck driver was fatally wounded, he had no pulse and was not breathing and was trapped inside the truck that caught fire. As soon as the firefighters finished we were able to get to him and tried to give him medical treatment, but his injuries were very serious and we could only pronounce him dead on the scene.”
There was heavy traffic in the area of the accident, and the police opened an investigation into the incident.
