A fatal car accident occurred this morning on Route 1, when a motorcyclist in his 50’s skidded and died near the intersection of Ma’ale Adumim. Magen David Adom paramedics performed CPR, but eventually declared his death.
“There was a heavy motorcycle on the road, and a man of about 50 years old was lying next to it unconscious, not breathing, and without a pulse,” said Akiva Pollack, a paramedic who arrived at the scene.
According to Pollack, “the motorcyclist suffered very serious head injuries and other injuries in his body. We tried to save him but he showed no sign of life and we soon had to confirm his death.”
Police were called to the scene to investigate the cause of the accident. Heavy traffic was felt from Ma’ale Adumim to Jerusalem.
