Mother and children killed in car accident in the Golan
The father and one daughter were seriously injured and taken to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

A family of five was part of a head-on collision this afternoon with a minibus on Route 98 near the entrance to Kibbutz El-Rom. A 28 year old woman and two of her children ages 10 and 6 were killed. The father, 40, and his 3 year old daughter were both critically injured. The minibus driver, 55, was taken to Ziv hospital.

Magen David Adom arrived at the scene and determined the death of the woman and her son. The death of the 6 year old girl was determined on the way to the hospital. The father and 3 year old daughter were taken by helicopter to the Rambam Hospital in Haifa. The doctors at Ramabam are fighting for the life of the father, who is suffering from serious injuries.

Golani Brigade commander, Colonel Rassan Alyan was driving nearby at the time of the accident and was the first to help rescue the victims from the vehicle. It is still unclear what caused the accident but an investigation is underway.

Since the beginning of the year, 150 people have been killed in traffic accidents, compared to 118 at the same time last year - an increase of 30%.
