Supercars On A $50,000 Budget: The Most Expensive Ferrari In The World
We have previously shown you a replica of a Shelby Cobra in this series, where we said that buying a replica of such a cool car was much more unique than buying a new sports car from a dealership.

You can go out and see plenty of Porsches and Corvettes, but how many Shelby Cobras are you going to see? This week's budget supercar is even more special. Unfortunately it's a replica, but if you are going to have a replica, why not make it of the most expensive Ferrari in the world?

For less than $50,000 you can now buy a replica of the Ferrari 250 GTO. A real 250 GTO sold for $38 million so it is unlikely that you will ever own one. However, if you have $50,000 to spend, you can own a pretty nice replica. Now, we won't sugar coat it, this replica is not perfect. The interior is nothing like a 250 GTO. The car is built on a 1976 Datsun 260Z platform and is powered by a 5.7-liter Corvette LT1 racing engine with a five-speed manual. It clearly won't sound like the original, but this replica will be no slouch. It even has disc brakes to help it stop. The car is also a convertible, so you likely won't fool anyone into thinking that it's a real Ferrari: the 250 GTO never came as a Spyder.

The build was completed in 2013 and comes with a nice blue paint job and black leather interior. Like we said, true car enthusiasts won't be fooled into thinking that you own a real Ferrari, but you will get a ton of looks in this car. If you bring it to cars and coffee, we are sure that people will come up to ask you questions about it. The Corvette engine may not sound like a classic Ferrari V12, but at least this replica car will have some guts. While the Datsun platform does an admirable job of looking almost like a vintage Ferrari in dimension.

If you're interested in this 250 GTO replica, it's currently on sale at Specialty Sales Classics in Fairield, California. The dealership is asking $49,990 for it. For less than $50,000, you could be driving the most expensive Ferrari in the world.
