Watch solar eclipse from your new Volvo XC60 — through this sunroof cover
This coming Monday, people all across America will be stepping outside to watch a total eclipse of the heart ... er ... sun.

For most people in the path of the complete eclipse, the only way to watch will be with pinhole viewers or flimsy cardboard sunglasses. If you happen to own a new Volvo XC60, there's another option that will allow you to watch the eclipse in style, comfort — and of course, this being Volvo, safety: the XC60's new eclipse-viewer sunroof cover.

XC60 Eclipse Viewer

Volvo developed a cover for the panoramic sunroof that perfectly covers the glass in material that will make it safe to watch the solar eclipse from the car. It attaches magnetically for quick installation and removal. It's free to XC60 owners and will be available at Volvo dealers along the strip of the United States where totality, the complete covering of the sun, will be visible. Supplies are limited, and priority is going to dealers in Oregon, Idaho, Nebraska, Missouri, and South Carolina.

Volvo also has you covered for eclipse viewing even if you aren't where totality will be visible, and you don't have a XC60. The company will be live streaming the eclipse from four locations in 4K and in 360-degree virtual reality. That stream will be available at www.racingthesun.com.
