Renault Brazil had confirmed that the Kwid for South America was co-developed by Renault Technology Americas (RTA) and Renault Design Latin America (RDLA). The Kwid featured in the spyshot features a different side moulding and a black plastic accent across the c-pillar, which gives a floating roof impression. Given that the bumpers have been covered up, expect slight design tweaks in tow.
The Renault Kwid will be locally assembled in Brazil with parts imported from its production hub in India. It’s likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre SCe three cylinder flex-fuel engine capable of running on petrol and ethanol, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An Easy-R automated manual transmission could be offered in the higher grades.
