Renault Argentina is prepping to launch the new Renault Captur (Kaptur) before the end of this year.

Last week, it was presented at a private event at the Hipódromo de San Isidro, and will make its South American expo debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show this week. In Argentina, prices are expected to range between 410,000 and 460,000 pesos.

While the exterior and interior of the Brazil-made Captur look largely identical to the Euro-spec Captur, the former is based on the Duster's M0 platform and the latter rides on the Renault Clio's platform.

The Captur measures 4,333 mm in length, 1,813 mm (excluding exterior mirrors) in width, 1,613 in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,674 mm. Compared to the Euro-spec Captur, it is 211 mm longer, 35 mm wider and 47 mm taller.

Inside, top variants of the Argentinian spec Captur come with a dual-tone white and black dashboard, 7-inch MEDIANAV touchscreen display, piano black and chrome embellishes, steering-mounted buttons, rain-sensing wipers and Key Card with "hands-free" system. The Captur will be offered in two trims: Zen and Intense. The Zen grade will come equipped with four airbags, ESP and the MEDIANAV system as standard, while the Intense grade gets leather upholstery, option of dual-tone paint external colors, climate control and reverse camera.

Currently, the Duster-based Captur is only on sale in Russia as the Renault 'Kaptur'.
