The Kodiaq is Skoda’s first ever full size SUV which will be positioned above the Skoda Yeti crossover. It is based on the MQB platform that underpins the Superb, and could share components with the new VW Tiguan.
The exterior was previewed by the Skoda VisionS concept at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March, featuring angular design lines and styling inspired by the new Skoda Superb. Skoda had released a design sketch of the Kodiaq, in which the SUV will look largely identical to the concept model.
The engine lineup could include 2.0-litre TSI petrol and TDI diesel engine options at launch, while a plug-in hybrid variant is said to be a part of the Kodiaq’s lifecycle, which could source the powertrain from the new Tiguan GTE.
