To celebrate the annual post-Thanksgiving shopping extravaganza, they brought pro drifters Chris Forsberg and Ryan Tuerck to an abandoned mall in LA. Then they put them behind the wheels of a pair of thousand-horsepower Nissan 370Z drift machines, and set them loose. The result looks like a far better way to ratchet up the madness than any we've seen to date, and sure beats wrestling that other kid's dad for the last... we don't know what's hot with the kids these days... Pogs? Is that still a thing?
The video was shot at the Hawthorne Plaza Shopping Center, located on Hawthorne Boulevard in – you guessed it – Hawthorne, CA, a municipality in Los Angeles County. It opened in 1977, but as the area's economy declined, so did the mall, until it finally closed in 1999. It was used in the filming of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, among other movies. And as you can see from the video above, its desolate halls and multistory parking structure make for a great hooning ground. It's both terrifying and awesome, so check out the action in the four-minute clip below.
