What started as a joyful drive quickly became a costly accident, leaving debris scattered across the road. What Really Happened?
This appears to be a typical instance of distraction, but the rumor mills would love to spice it up by giving it a family conflict aspect. Going by a video uploaded by ATL Muscle on social media, it looked to be taken at the corner of the entry into some sort of car meet. The son was leading the way in the Corvette Z06, followed by his father in the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.
It appears the son in the Corvette started braking and downshifting to take a right turn, onto a lane filled with parked cars. You can’t tell for sure in the video, but maybe the Corvette driver didn’t indicate that he was turning. Unfortunately, his father in the CT5-V Blackwing wasn’t expecting that and clearly wasn’t paying attention, hitting the brakes too late to stop in time. You can hear the Blackwing’s tires screeching against tarmac, but as effective as they are, they didn’t have a chance. With traffic in the oncoming lane, the only way out was to rear-end the Corvette, damaging it in the process.
