2017 Nissan GT-R's $111,585 Price Is $8k More Than Before
Parking a new Nissan GT-R in your driveway has just become a more expensive proposition, and it's all because of a darn titanium exhaust.

For 2017, the GT-R Premium – don't let that trim level fool you, it's the base model – starts at $111,585, including a steep $1,595 destination charge. That's $8,220 more than the $103,365 2016 GT-R Premium. But don't fret customers, you're coming out on top thanks to the now-standard titanium exhaust. The lightweight exhaust had previously been a $12,900 option limited to the hardcore, range-topping Nismo model. But Nissan is giving it, and a 20-horsepower boost, to all GT-R customers for the new model year for just $8,220. In other words, you're getting a lot more cluck for your buck.

Nissan hasn't announced pricing for any of the GT-R's more potent trims, like the Black Edition or the Nismo, but considering the improvements to the standard trim, we'd expect a similar bump for the rest of the range. If $8,220 is consistent, it'd drive the Black Edition up from $113,105 to $121,325 and the Nismo from $151,585 to $159,805. We'll update these educated guesses once Nissan decides to release official pricing, which it says "will be announced at a later date."
