Tel Aviv Driver Runs Over Victim and Flees
Last April, a brawl erupted outside a club in Tel Aviv. One of the people involved rammed his car into the crowd, seriously injured a young man and fled the scene.

A mass brawl outside a Tel Aviv night club last April resulted in several injuries after a man entered his car, rammed into several people and fled. A few days later, he was caught by the Police and indicted. An exclusive video of the incident has been released by Israel's Channel 2 News.

The brawl took place outside a night club on HaArba'a Street in Tel Aviv. According to the indictment, the driver, 22-year-old Itamar Benita from Southern Israel, started driving in the direction of the people brawling and injured the complainant, who fell to the ground.

In the documentation of the incident, the driver is seen ramming into the complainant, driving in reverse and returning to hit the man once more. "Afterwards, he is seen standing over the victim with his car for about a minute, intending to cause him serious injuries," the indictment, filed by Attorney Noa Bar from the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office read.

The indictment further suggested that after running over the young man, the defendant fled the scene, leaving the victim injured and bleeding. The man was seriously injured in his face, back, stomach and chest.

Police investigators determined the driver had deliberately attempted to injure the victim. Three days later, they located and arrested the suspect.

Benita is being indicted on counts of deliberately causing an injury and leaving the injured man on the scene. The defendant has a criminal record that includes previous cases of violence.
