2027 RAM Promaster City
The 2027 Ram ProMaster City arrives wearing a new Ram logo, while offering more power and more space.

Ram is reviving the ProMaster City van. It’s all-new for 2027, at least for the United States, and it will go on sale a year from now.

It rides on Stellantis’ K0 global mid-size commercial van platform, which underpins a range of models from the European automaker, such as the Citroën Dispatch and Opel Vivaro, and the new Ram is nearly identical to those. One new feature on the van is the Ram wordmark, which will begin to appear on all future products.

Powering the new ProMaster is the automaker’s turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 166 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. The engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission that only powers the front wheels. The van has a front MacPherson strut and rear independent trailing-arm suspension.

The 2027 ProMaster City measures just under 77 inches tall, which Ram says will allow it to enter most urban garages and parking structures. It has a 129.0-inch wheelbase while offering a turning radius of just over 42 feet.

Ram says the van will offer over 167.1 cubic feet of cargo space, featuring a 111.1-inch-long load floor, 48 inches between the rear wheel wells, and 54 inches of cargo height. The space is allegedly large enough to fit two standard US pallets, four-by-eight plywood sheets, and more.

The step-in height is 23 inches, and cargo space is accessible through either 180-degree rear swing doors or a liftgate. There’s also a standard passenger-side sliding door measuring 36 inches wide by 48 inches tall. It will carry over 2,000 pounds of payload, with Ram targeting a 2,000-lbs towing capacity.

The ProMaster City is a van designed to work, and the features, or lack thereof, reflect that. Ram will offer the ProMaster City, in either Cargo Van and Passenger Wagon layouts, in two trims: Tradesman and SLT. The Passenger Wagon can seat five to eight people.

The Tradesman comes standard with forward collision warning, auto headlights, rear parking sensors, heated front seats, black plastic bumpers, and a programmable speed limiter. Inside, the ProMaster has a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.0-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The SLT gets a body-color front bumper with fog lights, a body-color rear bumper, dual-tone 17-inch wheels, front parking sensors, and a wireless phone charger. A heated steering wheel is optional.

Ram will offer the ProMaster City in 11 configurations—six window and six panel combinations with two rear access options. Six exterior colors will be available.

Ram will build the ProMaster City in Turkey. The 2027 Ram ProMaster City will go on sale in the first quarter of 2027. Ram is aiming for a starting price of under $40,000.
