Auto computer vision startup Nexar Ltd. hopes to eliminate traffic jams by enhancing vehicle communication, Eran Shir, Nexar co-founder and CEO, said in a recent interview with Calcalist held at the company's offices in Tel Aviv.

Founded in 2015, Nexar develops computer vision and automation technology for cars. In 2016, the company launched a free dashcam application that collects user-generated road data and connects to a vehicle-to-vehicle network in more than 740 cities across 160 countries to create a real-time road map. Nexar has raised more than $60 million to date from investors including Alibaba Innovation Ventures, GE Ventures, and Aleph.

To date, the company sold over 50,000 road cameras and documents over 80 million kilometers per month, Shir said.
