Here Are The Top 5 Supercars From Geneva 2016
When supercar manufacturers compete, everybody wins.

The Geneva Auto Show is like Disneyland for enthusiasts. Children trapped in adult bodies flock from around the world to see the wildest fantasies that automakers can invent and see some of the shiny carbon fiber-cloaked attractions. Among the most special of these attractions are the supercars, which are all about looks, thrills, speed, attention, and enough daily usability to make your morning commute a lot more dramatic. Here are five of our favorites from the 2016 Geneva Auto Show.

If you look up the word "supercar" in the dictionary, you’ll find a picture of a Lamborghini right next to it. This is because Lambos have forever represented the world of supercars due to their wild and imaginative styling. To design the Centenario, a car that’s supposed to celebrate Lamborghini founder’s 100th birthday, no shortcuts were taken and this shows very plainly. We could tell you that it has 770 horsepower via a 6.5-liter screamer of a V12. We could go on and say that it accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, reaches 217 mph, and that only 20 $1.9 million examples will be made, but none of that does the car any justice. I mean just look at it.

As its name states, the Radical RXC Turbo 500R is for those who sit on the line between genius and completely insane. Even though its 3.5-liter V6 Ecoboost engine might not sound like much, the 600 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque that it makes goes a long way since the full carbon Radical only weighs 2,264 pounds. Even so, power to weight means nothing without the ability to control the car on the track. But for Radical, the word "racetrack" just means “home.” The Radical SR8LM still holds the record lap time at the Nurburgring, and Radical themselves have claimed that this car will complete the lap more quickly. For $239,000 you can get one of these carbon fiber record setters for yourself.

When McLaren presented the 570GT, they said that it would be the most luxurious and refined McLaren to date. Coming from a manufacturer that leaves its interiors as bare and focused as a jail cell, this is refreshing news. Seeing the 570GT in the flesh only helped to solidify its grand touring status because the car is gorgeous, practical, and fast. With a top speed in excess of 200 mph, a panoramic clear roof, more storage space than a Ford Focus, and a leather-lined interior, someone should tell Ferrari to worry because this McLaren will steal hearts and wallets. When this 3.8-liter V8 monster hits showroom floors, don’t expect to exploit its 562 horsepower for any less than $219,000.

No one really knows what’s going on with Spyker. For years, it made the C8 for former Saab owners who wanted supercars but, like Saab, Spyker ended up going out of business. Evidently, Spyker’s dream didn’t die out with bankruptcy and now the brand is back with the C8 Preliator. The C8 Preliator retains the quilted leather interior, strange aerospace-derived styling, and the same 4.2-liter Audi V8 that the original C8 had. However this time, the C8 Preliator now gets 525 horsepower over the C8’s 400 ponies. Combine that with modern styling, an aluminum tubular space frame, and a chassis designed by Lotus and you get a car that may just rescue Spyker from bankruptcy.

Pagani has a home in the hearts of every gearhead because of its ability to embody automobile passion in a very effective way. Horacio Pagani’s mission to marry art and science into a machine pays off in dividends because the Zonda and Huayra have no equals. The only problem with the Huayra is that while it's a very impressive car, it can't keep up with other cars in its price range such as the Porsche 918. The Pagani Huayra BC addresses this by losing weight to make the most of its 789 hp 6.0-liter V12. It may look like a normal Huayra, but no body panel on the BC is identical to the original car. See the results and judge for yourself if the Huayra BC should scare other supercars and hypercars.
