2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Edition Won't Give The Civic Si Sleepless Nights
The Corolla Hatchback is one of the most affordable Toyotas you can buy in America right now, with pricing that remains nearly unchanged for the 2025 model year. With over 230,000 units sold in 2024, the Japanese automaker is looking to boost the five-door model's renown by continuing to offer the FX Edition for the 2026 model year.

Meant as a callback to the sporty FX16 models sold during the '80s, the FX Edition adds a dose of nostalgia to the most popular nameplate in the world, but it's not quite as special as its limited-edition status suggests.

A Dash Of Style To The Popular Nameplate
The most noticeable upgrade that goes with the 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback EX Edition is the set of 18-inch gloss white-finished alloy wheels, complemented by black lug nuts. The limited-edition model also comes with a black vented wing for added flair, matched with black side mirror caps and rear emblem. To cap things off, the tailgate is also decorated with a heritage-inspired FX badge as a nod to the original FX16.

Inside, the FX Edition comes with black sport touring seats with suede inserts and orange stitches, which are also found on the door panels, steering wheel, and shifter boot. Just like last year, the model is based on the base SE trim, but it's still loaded with features such as a 7-inch digital gauge cluster with customizable layouts, an 8-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity and charging, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

Still No Additional Oomph To Rival The Civic Si
The 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Edition is still powered by the same 2.0-liter four-pot mill that churns out up to 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, sent to the wheels via CVT. No changes mentioned, so bad news for those who want a real FX16 reboot that can contend with the Honda Civic Si.

Of note, Toyota is adding trial versions of three of its connected services with the MY2026 FX Edition: Safety Connect (5-year trial), Service Connect (5-year trial), and Remote Connect (1-year trial).

There are three colors available for the 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Edition - Ice Cap, Blue Crush Metallic, and Inferno, which is depicted here. Unfortunately, Toyota hasn't disclosed the pricing for the FX Edition, though it's important to note that the 2025 version has a price tag of $27,785. The Japan-built model will be limited to 1,600 units only, all sold in America and expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships this fall.
