The Jeep Avenger was launched as the company's newest subcompact crossover SUV alongside Renegade in 2023 based on the Common Modular Platform of Stellantis – which is shared with many other models like the Peugeot 2008, Fiat 600, Alfa Romeo Junior, Opel Mokka, or the DS Automobiles DS3 Crossback.
It originally had an EV option with 154 hp and a 54 kWh battery along with a base inline-three mild hybrid turbo 1.2-liter mill that's good for just 99 horsepower. Now, there's also an all-wheel drive model coming to market in Europe starting in May 2025 – the Jeep Avenger 4xe. Contrary to popular belief – as ascertained by the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee, this model isn't fitted with a plug-in hybrid but rather evolves the 48-volt mild hybrid into a combination of the 1.2L gasoline turbo and dual 21-kW electric motors for a total power of 145 horsepower.
The model is coming soon after order banks opened at a very steep price at its home in Poland, where it's produced alongside other Stellantis models. Now, before the market launch in May, the media representatives had the chance to get their first impressions. Additionally, the company announced the latest details in a comprehensive press release, which is tucked below.
The new Jeep Avenger 4xe stands out with a more rugged design, new front anti-scratch bumpers, specific fog lights, roof rails, all-season MS tires, enhanced underbody protection, red tow hooks, green accents, or the X signature on the front bumper. Inside, there's a black headliner, waterproof seat fabrics, and various premium touches.
The capability of the new model is boosted by an additional 10 mm of ground clearance, a water fording depth of up to 400 mm, the intelligent all-wheel-drive setup, and the Selec-Terrain system. Thanks to its improved powertrain, the Avenger 4xe achieves a top speed of 194 kph (+10 kph compared to the mild hybrid) and sprints to 100 kph in 9.5 seconds.
The new Jeep Avenger 4xe will be available across three grades - Upland, the Overland with Level 2 assisted driving, and the exclusive Avenger 4xe The North Face Edition, which is limited to 4,806 units, a symbolic figure used as a tribute to the height of Mont Blanc, the tallest mountain on the Old Continent.
"Thanks to over 160,000 customer orders since its launch, the Jeep Avenger is a proven success, and with the 4xe version, we complete Jeep offer in the B-SUV segment by adding the innovative hybrid technology applied to the Jeep's legendary off-road capability," said Fabio Catone, Head of the Jeep Brand in Enlarged Europe.
