Joining the new Sienna on stage at the New York Auto Show will be a refreshed version of the Toyota Yaris hatchback.

As before, the Toyota Yaris lineup will consist of three-door and five-door body styles, and trim levels broken down into in three grades, base L, upmarket LE, and the SE, which is supposed to look sportier and is only available as a five-door.

All versions of the Yaris get new front and rear fascias. All of them still have a puckered-looking face above a gaping mouth-shaped air intake. At the rear are a reshaped bumper and new taillights. It isn't particularly pretty in any grade, but the SE, which gets 16-inch aluminum wheels, is probably going to be the best of the bunch.

Inside, all 2018 Yaris models get the instrument cluster that used to come only on the SE. It includes three real gauges – speedometer, tachometer, and fuel – along with an LCD that offers all the rest of the info you need while driving. L and LE models get an Entune audio system with a 6.1-inch touchscreen display, while SE models receive a slightly larger 7-inch screen.

Expect the meager 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine to continue sending all 106 of its horsepower to the front wheels through a 5-speed manual or an ancient 4-speed automatic. All Yaris models are equipped with Toyota's Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beams as standard equipment. Expect to see the refreshed Yaris hatchback hit dealers this summer.
