As seen in the official teasers the 2017 Hyundai Elantra gets a sleek pair of projector headlamps flanking a wider and angular 6-point grille with bold horizontal slats. The lower fascia also features boomerang elements that house round foglamps.

The side profile has a strong shoulder line from the front wheel arch, new C-pillar design, and 16-inch alloy rims, while the rear sports large taillamps with interesting LED clusters, a sculpted spoiler and a new bumper design. Reports suggest that the body of the new Elantra is one of the most aero-efficient in its segment, with a low drag coefficient of 0.27 Cd.

Also revealed is the interior of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra, which features a toned-down design that draws cues from the 2015 Hyundai Sonata and 2016 Hyundai Tucson. It now comes with a chunky 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, new instrument dials, dull silver garnish on the dashboard and pedals with aluminum inserts. Also equipped is an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system in the center, with support for Bluetooth connectivity.

Power is likely to be sourced from the 1.6-liter T-GDi engine from the 2016 Hyundai Tucson, which makes 175 hp. It is paired to Hyundai’s new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. As for a diesel option, it could also source the  new 1.7-liter diesel engine, which delivers 141 hp and 340 Nm of torque in the Hyundai Sonata, and is also mated to a 7-speed DCT.

While the 2017 Hyundai Avante for Korea could make its debut in the coming weeks, its global model, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra, could be unveiled in November at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.
